    Description

It isn't very often a table of this significance comes along but lucky me was in the right place at the right time and I acquired this custom table a couple of months ago. Table has just been converted to pocket billiards by well known and experienced team at Royal Oak Antiques in Jackson, Wi. New pics will be posted in about a week. Interesting history here as this table is believed to have belonged to Minnesota's most notorious mobster of all time, Isadore Blumenfeld, most famously known as Kid Cann.  He was closely associated with the Al Capone mob of Chicago in the 30's and was also known in the Mpls/St Paul area as a pool hall owner and proprietor of strip clubs in the Twin Cities. Most famous was a club on Washington Ave in Mpls called the Persian Palms. Table was acquired a few years ago by a well known Minnesota antique guy and he got the table from the estate of a long time collector of high end and unusual antiques. It is thought that this table came from the estate of Kid Cann because this fellow had often bragged about some of the great antiques he got from that estate but it can't be verified. Table sat in storage for nearly 40 years and was restored in the past two years. It is in impeccable condition. Gorgeous Brazilian rosewood with several rain forest inlays. Real and original 1800's ivory rail sights and reproduction pockets to make it the regular pool table just as it would have been if it was a pool table from the start instead of a carom table. He was known to love 3 cushion billiards and supposedly took this table with him whenever he moved. History pretty sketchy but that is as far as my research has taken me. You cannot buy a table like this anywhere on the planet. I seriously doubt that there is another one like it ever produced. This might have been made by Brunswick Brothers instead oh the BBC Company and it has a repro nameplate on the rail. Doesn't really matter. This is in the upper echelon of antique pool tables and it is the friendly 46 by 92 8' size. Delivery in person on this table or come pick it up. On display in Madison starting next week. Imagine this: Guys who fought in the Civil War played on this table. Jesse and Frank James were robbing trains while big shots were playing on this table somewhere.  Al Capone was an avid player and likely played on this table. If it could only talk it could solve a few unsolved crimes and murders.let your imagination flow.  Hard to believe something this old can be this beautiful. In New York you couldn't touch this table for less than ,000. Belongs in that special home for that special guy and I will be happy to deliver and install it in person. Email with questions and thanks for looking. Delivery negotiable.
